Summary From The Book:

(From Goodreads) This is a world divided by blood—red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power. Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance—Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.

My Thoughts:

The book focuses on the main heroine's point of view - Mare Barrow. Although her mind is quite complex to understand, the plot had me hooked on this book.

It all started just like any books, how the heroine has all the sufferings in life. On how unfair the world is. How unprivileged her life has become. It all changed when her best friend, Kilorn had to go to military duties and he is untrained.

Mare is willing to do everything for her friend even if she has to sacrifice but this is where all the chaos started. She gets sucked in a world that is unknown to her.

All the hardships and the new world she entered is what made the book exciting! How everything slowly unfolded. That is what kept me grounded and hooked on this book.

My favorite character of the story might be Cal because I imagine him as someone who is naive but an honest, honorable person. He has his faults but still, I love his character.

The scene that I love most is when Mare discovered who Cal really is! Even I did not expected that.

The title of the book fits the story but telling you the reason behind it is like a spoiler so I will not share it.

The book is about family, equality, friendship, betrayal and a bit of love!

My Favorite Line/s:

"I do not forget. I do not forgive."

Rating: 5/5 because I was really hooked. One of the books that made me finish it in two days.

Recommendation:

To those people who likes story with genetic mutations and a lot of action!
