The Queen Of Nothing By Holly Black

THE QUEEN OF NOTHING BY HOLLY BLACK
"Every page turned, I just want more and more of it...I was never able to predict what will happen throughout the book! Folk of Air series should definitely be in your must-reads!"
I waited so long for this book specially since I was left hanging from the previous book, The Wicked King. Now, after finally finishing it in just five days, I am sad because I want more stories about Jude and Cardan! Anyway, let me now share my review with you.

Title: The Queen of Nothing

Author: Holly Black

Category: Young Adult

Genre: Fantasy

Publisher: Little Brown and Company

Total Chapters: 27 + Prologue and Epilogue

Total Pages: 305

Summary From The Book:

Power is much easier to acquire than it is to hold on to. Jude learned this lesson when she released her control over the wicked king, Cardan, in exchange for immeasurable power.
Now, as the exiled mortal Queen of Faerie, Jude is left reeling from Cardan's betrayal. She bides her time, determined to reclaim everything he took from her. Opportunity arrives in the form of her deceptive twin sister, Taryn, whose mortal life is in peril.

Jude must risk venturing back into the treacherous Faerie Court, and confront her lingering feelings for Cardan, if she wishes to save her sister. But Elfhame is not as she left it. War is brewing. As Jude slips deep within enemy lines, she becomes ensnared in the conflict's bloody politics.

And when a terrible curse is unleashed, panic spreads throughout the land, forcing her to choose between her ambition and her humanity...

My Thoughts:

You know that feeling when you waited for so long and now that you finally hold it in your hands, you just want to block out the world just so you could appreciate it. That is how I felt when I finally got my hands on this book. I read it first via e-book copy then finally bought the paperback edition to add in my collection.

With the months that went by, my head was full of ideas on what can happen and I imagined different scenarios on how Jude and Cardan might reunite. Funny though, not one idea from my head happened inside the book. LOL.

That is how amazing Holly is for me, I never expected all the twists and turns of the story! Specially for this last installment, The Queen of Nothing. The story is fast and I was able to finish it in five days. I think I will be able to finish it faster if I did not went to province and had my shifts at the hospital.

Anyway, the book is still focused on Jude's point of view. The major characters are the same but there is a new important character that I got interested with. You will find it out once you read it.

For the front cover, it implicitly shows the gist of the story. So sharing with you the explanation of the front cover is like sharing a spoiler.

Again, the whole story is like Game of Thrones. Everybody wants the power of ruling over the lands.

My favorite scene would be the announcement of Cardan throughout the important people in the kingdom that his wife is none other than Jude Duarte! I was not able to hold back my scream!

For me the title - Queen of Nothing fits the story well. Now, I just wish there would be more of this story but I have to accept that this is the last book.

My Favorite Line/s:

"It really is a magical word: No. You say whatever bullshit you want and I just say no."

Rating: 5/5 because the story is something that makes me want to turn every page quickly to see what happens next.

Recommendation: To those people who loves fantasy, plot twists, politics specially in monarchy like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings.
